They have weekly specials and always specialize in southwestern cuisine. Going on their 14th year as a local favorite, Golden West Café is clearly doing things right.
Their Facebook wall is full of promotions of local shows that seem to happen every night of every weekend and also very often on the weekdays. This is great. Local music has a terribly hard time finding its place in cities around the country, and the best thing for musicians is to have their music heard. Places like Golden West Café make that possible and really facilitate grassroots support for local music. This is the only way music besides radio rock will remain a part of our culture, and most people would agree that we desperately need to save and promote creative, meaningful music.
Three thousand nine hundred twenty-nine people like Golden West Café. That is sort of ridiculous for a café. Most of the bands that play at this café don’t even has as many likes as the venue itself. Open until 1:00 am on weekdays and 2:00 am on weekends, this is a well loved and well visited part of the Baltimore music culture.
If you’re passing through Baltimore looking for a place to find local music or local food, check out Golden West Café. It’s got plenty of both.
